MSMD: Taped Mani with Stamping

Hello!!!!

Oh goodness!  I haven't done a Monkey See Monkey Do in forever!

While wasting the day away on Pinterest (which I do a lot...lol) I came across this cool design by Ash-Lilly's Lacquer Lust and immediately said "oh I've got to try that!" and so I did :) I loved this mani for several reasons...one its simple, yet looks funky...and two it was quick and easy.  And who does love a time-saving mani :)

When I sat down to plan my version of this design I looked through all my stamping plates trying to find just the right one. I did a quick test run on a sheet protector and yelled "oh yea! that's funky!" Needless to say my family thought I had lost it but I like the way this turned out. :)

To get this design, start with a base color. Once dry, tape off your design and then cover with another polish color and let dry. Next choose your image plate and stamp away. Remove the stripping tape after you've stamped and voila instant funky mani :)

What have you been up to????

HELLOOOOO lovely people!

It's been a long time since I last posted.  What have you all been up to???

Me? Well I've been doing the mommy thing in full force :) I'm happy to report that my beautiful daughter finally graduated high school!!! As most of us have all been there, we know that senior year can't come fast enough. Not only was she going to school 3/4 time but she was working the same amount of time. Somewhere between 30+ hours a week working she managed to complete homework and tests. I'm a very proud mommy :)  She bought her first car soon after and in a couple of weeks she will be moving out with her bestie...life in the fast lane for that one :) lol  So now that's one down and 2 to go!  My middle kid will be a senior this year and my baby is entering the 2nd grade.  Gosh where did the time go!

Throughout it all, I managed to find a few peaceful minutes to do a little art...and here they are :)

Spun Sugar Technique

Llama Nails Techinque Challenge

Hello Loves!!

Happy Hump Day!!!!  Today's Llama Nails Technique Challenge...Spun Sugar.

Honestly, I did not like this technique at all :)  Apparently you need a whole lot of patience, of which I do not have LOL!  However, I do have to say it is a very interesting technique, if it works out right, the design and texture is pretty cool :)

Llama Nails Technique Challenge

To get this look, I started with a base of Sinful Colors Purple Diamond.  I love that color, it is a very pretty, shimmery pale purple. While my base was drying, I put a glop of Pure Ice New Lilac, Sinful Colors Let's Talk and LA Colors Purple on a piece of paper so they too could dry.  The point of this technique is to allow the polish to dry enough so that when you use a dotter, toothpick, etc., it will leave a string of polish that you then apply to the nails...and that's where my patience ran thin.  This is not a quick design, not always did  the polish leave behind a "thin" string, as you can see in the pictures. You must also work quickly as you don't want the polish to dry out so much that you can no longer "string it along" :)

Items Used:
Sinful Colors -Purple diamond
Sinful Colors - Let's Talk
Pure Ice - New Lilac
LA Colors - Purple
Dotting Tool

I do think that with a little more patience and practice I could nail this technique.  Will have to try again down the road :)

So what did you think?  Do you have the patience for the Spun Sugar?

As always, please check out the other lovely ladies participating in the Llama Nails technique challenge.

Until Next time!!!
