A is for : Autism

Hi Loves!

Today begins the ABC of Nails Challenge that the lovely ladies from Llama Nails are participating in.  It took me a minute to figure out what I was going to do for a design.  I knew a lot of the ladies were going to go with abstract or apples so I wanted to be waaaaay different :D  I like to stand out you know...hehehehe. So I thought, let's do Autism.  It's a disability that effects so many, 1 in 88 children.  I have a cousin with Autism. He's had to overcome so much and to see him as the man he is today makes me very proud to be his cousin :D According to Autism Society it is the fastest-growing developmental disability. With only Only 56% of students with autism finishing high school.  But there are wonderful programs out there that teach autistic children how to live, work and survive in what can be a very cruel society. The next time and Autism run or walk is in your neighborhood, please get involved I promise you won't be disappointed :D.

So on to the nails....

This design caused me a minor headache...I couldn't get the lines of the puzzle pieces to line up but I still love how it turned out. As you can see I used the puzzle pieces for the accent nail and then I stamped the other nails with Bundle Monster #319.

Creative Assistants:

  1. Love this! And definitely unique!

  2. Beautiful! Such a great idea too. As a former teacher I have had many students along the Autism spectrum and it is a difficult disability. But with so much research being done and so many strategies for these individuals, there is so much hope and progress being made! Good job Courtney :-)

  3. Great topic. :-) I'm glad to know a little bit more about autism as well.
